Olahan sambal sing disedhiyakake karo pari digawe saka rempah-rempah (kadang kalebu belachan ), kenari India, lan bawang . [2] Bahan-bahan liyane kalebu bawang putih, gula, [1] peterseli, utawa kacang mentah. [3] Iki banjur disebar ing ndhuwur pari, [4] luwih anyar. Kajaba iku, sing wadon luwih disenengi wong lanang. [5] Werna putih asring digunakake minangka alternatif, biasane yen pari ora bisa ditemokake. [6] Panambah rasa kalebu mrica putih utawa uyah. Resep liyane kalebu sawetara brendi lan minyak zaitun. [7]  Iki umume diapit karo jeruk nipis utawa jeruk nipis. Biasane dibungkus nganggo godhong gedhang suwene sepuluh menit kanggo masak, pari dipotong kaping pisanan. [4] Uga bisa dibungkus godhong jahe [8] utawa foil aluminium. [9] Pari dipanggang areng. [6]
