Vulpecula inggih punika salah satunggaling konstelasi ingkang alit, saha lemes ingkang wonten ing belahan bumi sisih lor. Ing basa Latin, Vulpecula gadhah teges "rubah alit". Konstelasi Vulpecula inggih dipuntepangaken sepisanan déning astronom Semir, inggih punika Johannes Hevelius ing abad kaping 17. Nama aslinipun inggih punika "Vulpecula et Anser" ("rubah alit lan angsa) lan kagambaraken minangka rubah ingkang nembé nyepeng angsa ing rahangipun. Lajeng rubah lan angsanipun dipunpisah lajeng dados konstelasi ingkang kepisah lan ing satunggaling wekdal saged nggabung dados satunggal malih. Angsa punika ing wekdal sapunika dipunwujudaken dados lintang [8981] Anser, alpha Vulpecula.

Vulpecula boten gadhah kathah lintang ingkang padhang ingkang langkung saking magnitude kaping sekawan. [8981] alpha Vulpecula, ugi dipunmangertosi minangka Anser, Lucida Anseris lan Lukida, inggih punika satunggaling giant abrit kanthi magnitude ingkang cetha inggih punika 4,44. Punika inggih lintang ingkang padhang piyambak wonten ing konstelasi punika. Lintang punika tebihipun kirang langkung 296, 5 taun dahya saking bumi. Punika inggih satunggaling lintang optik binar.[1] Pulsar ingkang sepisanan inggih punika PSR B1919+21, kapanggih ing Vulpecula ing Cambridge ing taun 1967. Punika kapanggih déning astronom radio[2] lan ingkang menang bebungah Nobel Hewish Antony lan astrofisikawan [[Jocelyn Bell Burnell.[3] Vulpecula ngewrat kalih bendha langit ingkang misuwur inggih punika Dumbbell Nebula lan Brocchi’s Cluster. Dumbbell Nebula (Messier 27) inggih punika planit nebula ingkang sepusanan kapanggih déning astronom Prancis inggih punika Charles Messier ing taun 1764. Nebula punika inggih padhang, amba lan gampil kapanggih kanthi teleskop. Planet nebula punika dumunung ing jarak ingkang tebihipun kirang langkung 1.360 taun cahya saking bumi. Pusatipun lintang ing Dumbbell Nebula inggih punika kurcaci pethak ingkang langkung ageng tinimbang kurcaci pethak sanèsipun ingkang sampun misuwur.
